PROFESSIONAL

Kayakers that can navigate and run Class III+ rapids are recommended to participate in this category. It is open to all national and international participants.

The races in the category are :

 

Kayak Slalom 
 

  • It is a timed event where athletes navigate a combination of downstream (green) and upstream (red) gates to complete the race. Start to finish fastest paddler wins Kayak Slalom

  • The athlete receives a 2-second penalty for a touched gate and a 50-second penalty for a missed gate or incorrect gate navigation.

Kayak Cross

 

  • Kayak cross, formerly known as extreme slalom, where four athletes compete simultaneously on a whitewater course where athletes navigate a combination of downstream (green) and upstream (red) gates to complete the race

  • Competitors are launched from a starting point or ramp and must navigate upstream and downstream gates, perform a 360-degree kayak roll in a designated zone, and use their paddles for contact to get to the finish line first

AMATEUR 

​

This category is recommended for paddlers with maximum Class III kayaking and has not participated in any regional kayaking competition as an professional. There is not a formal certification for the amateur category, its self-attested. Any paddler found to misrepresent his skill level would be disqualified and will forfeit his ranking and bared from future participation.

 

The races in the category are :

 

Downriver Time-Trial ( White-water Class III or below)

  • Open to all amateur paddlers male and female

Please note – There is no prize money for the amateur category. Only trophies and medals will be distributed to the winners.
